Compass Points

Compass Points

Compass Points was an umbrella framework embracing a wide range of Professional Development support activities offered by ATC free of charge to practitioners and organisations in the arts, heritage and creative sector.

Activities under the Compass Points Programme centred around Signpost sessions, regular bookable one-to-one diagnostic and advisory surgeries held in Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, where ATC Advisors offered help with a full spectrum of professional and business development issues, including project planning, business organisation, individual career development, constitution and governance, training needs analysis, and funding applications.

Each surgery lasted up to 90 minutes, and participants were asked to forward personal registration details and an outline of the topic for discussion in advance of the day.

The Signpost surgeriesalso provided advice on applications to other ATC support programmes which included:

Attachment  Longer term coaching support from anATC advisor to help deal with critical development issues

Practical Partnerships Specialist support from a mentor in an appropriate artistic or professional area (formerly the East Midlands Arts Mentoring scheme)

Clearing Out The Cupboard   ATC’s acclaimed Board Development programme

Compass Pointswas promoted in partnership with the ADO Network and Bishop Grosstesse College in Lincolnshire, Creative Connections and Northamptonshire County Council in Northamptonshire, and Cultivate in Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northants.
