Insite
Insite was a region-wide active research project drawing on regular anecdotal accounts from practitioners in the arts sector and the creative industries to establish an accurate and up-to-date picture of the ongoing professional development needs of people working in the field.
Who took part?
Reports were requested from practitioners working in any capacity which brought them into contact or discussion with practitioners around their development needs. Submissions came from artists, community practitioners, development workers, funders, trainers, educators and others, as well as funding bodies, educational institutions, development agencies and arts groups.
How was it used?
To increase awareness of training needs among practitioners and influence the planning of those supporting their professional development (including the Arts Council, local authorities, support agencies etc).
To inspire new delivery partnerships around the identified needs.
To provide documented evidence of need to support funding applications for professional development activity.
To ensure that valuable first hand intelligence is not lost when key people move post.
