Sustainable Museums
Sustainable Museums was a development programme available free of charge to trustees, paid staff and volunteers working in independent museums in the East Midlands. The programme ran during 2006 and 2007.
Support available included formal seminars and workshops, themed one to one consultancies and board development activities which are led by an experienced facilitator. The programme also offered two types of partnership working opportunities through ‘Practical Partnerships’. One option offered individuals the chance to access tailored advice from experienced practitioners, the second provided support for practitioners to share their experiences and advise on best practice within the sector.
The project was funded by the European Social Fund and MLA East Midlands. It was delivered through a partnership between MLA East Midlands and ATC (Arts Training Central).

"I have used some of the tips I picked up on the various workshops and seminars I attended during the winter to make a few improvements to the museum facilities that are intended to make a visit more enjoyable."
